World Class Defence Organisation is currently looking to recruit an Electrical Systems Engineer / Architect subcontractor on an initial 12 month contract. Your base site can either be from the companies Bristol, Stevenage or Bolton office. This role will be a hybrid position 3 days per week onsite and 2 days remote. \n
Hourly Rate: £60 - £85 (Umbrella).\n
Contract Duration: 6 Months initially and then ongoing and long-term thereafter.\n
Missile Electronic Architect Job Description:\n
\nElectrical
Architects/Engineers are involved in all aspects of missile development, from the early concept studies to series production and in-service support. Its an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to build on their engineering experience.\n
Responsibilities:
\n
\nYou will be responsible for the electrical architecture and requirements for missiles and/or their associated launcher systems with duties including:\n
\n
\n - Specifying/determining
\n
\n
\n - system electrical requirements
\n - interface definitions and characteristics between subsystems/equipment
\n - power architecture, including power budget and power profiles
\n - data communication and processingarchitecture
\n - requirements for EMC, bonding, grounding and screening
\n - signal safety, including routing of safety related signals
\n
\n
\n - Supporting test and fault-finding activities during compatibility checks, risk reduction, system proving/qualification and integration
\n - Reviewing and authoring reports, guidelines and processes
\n - Design assessments and analysis
\n - Working to defence/industry standards
\n - Attending and supporting design reviews
\n
\n
\nAlternatively, acting as the Equipment Manager (RMO) for specific
electrical/electronic equipment(s) that are part of a missile or launcher system you will:\n
\n
\n - Project manage the equipment(s) on behalf of the project during development, qualification and manufacture
\n - Own the requirements on behalf of the project for the equipment(s)
\n - Produce Statement(s) of Work for the associated design authority for the equipment(s)
\n - Create and update plans showing activities for the equipment(s)
\n - Manage internal & external design authorities for delivery of the equipment(s) hardware, software and deliverables to schedule, cost, quality and performance
\n - Hold regular progress reviews with the design authority for the equipment(s)
\n - Review qualification verification evidence
\n - Track and find resolution to equipment non-compliances
\n - Attend and support design reviews
\n
\n
Skillset/experience required:\n
\nTechnical experience required:\n

\n - electrical/electronics
\n - interface definitions
\n - knowledge of defence/industry standards, etc.
\n - degree level qualification in a related subject
\n - systems engineering
\n - writing reports
\n
\n
\nIdeally this would be within a defence related background, however, experience within other engineering industries will also be considered.\n
