  • Two Band 6 1.0wte Dietitians (permanent contracts) – 2 posts

  • Two Band 6 1.0wte Dietitians (12‑month fixed contracts) – 2 posts

  • Band 5 Dietitians may be considered for the appropriate candidate.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Paediatric Dietetic Service committed to innovation, collaboration and delivering outstanding nutritional care for infants, children and young people across a wide range of specialties.

Main Duties\n

You will provide specialist dietetic assessment and intervention for children and young people across inpatient, outpatient and community settings, supporting families to achieve the best nutritional outcomes. The role offers the chance to shape service development and map skill mix to specialist clinics.

Qualifications\n

  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • \n
  • Member of a relevant professional body
  • \n
Training & Development\n
    \n
  • Successful completion of the BDA paediatric modules or equivalent
  • \n
  • Clinical Educator Training
  • \n
  • Attendance at relevant specialist interest groups
  • \n
  • Membership or working towards membership of specialist paediatric groups
  • \n
  • Ability to identify own learning needs and engage in self‑directed learning
  • \n
  • Demonstrates reflective practice
  • \n
  • Teaching and presentation skills
  • \n
Knowledge, Experience & Expertise\n
    \n
  • Recent extensive experience working in paediatric dietetics at Band 6 level or above in the NHS
  • \n
  • Experience in assessing, treating and evaluating care in paediatric nutritional support and enteral feeding
  • \n
  • Experience of liaison with other health professionals and multi‑agency partnership working
  • \n
  • Sound knowledge of current issues relating to paediatric dietetics and relevant legislation, NSF’s, local and national guidelines and initiatives
  • \n
  • Ability to manage customer expectations, including handling complaints
  • \n
  • Ability to prioritise caseload and support others in doing the same
  • \n
  • Proven ability to case‑manage clients with complex needs and contribute to service improvements
  • \n
  • Experience working at Band 7 level
  • \n
  • Behavioural change training
  • \n
  • Specialist anthropometric skills
  • \n

Applicants must have appropriate UK professional registration and will be required to obtain a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf; costs are recovered from salary where applicable.
