Job Description: School Caretaker (Afternoons & Evenings) - Brent - Temp to Perm School Caretaker Job - Brent, North West London 35 Hours Per Week | ASAP Start | Temp to Perm | 48 Weeks Per Year Simply Education is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Brent for a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join their site team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker, facilities assistant, site assistant, premises officer, or maintenance professional looking to work within a school environment. Working Hours Monday to Friday 1:30pm - 9:30pm 1-hour unpaid break 35 hours per week 48 weeks per year Working throughout the summer period ASAP start available Permanent contract also availableThe Role as Working closely with the Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the school site during the afternoon and evening. The school operates regular evening lettings, with the Site Manager handing over responsibilities as external users arrive on site. Duties will include: Opening and securing areas of the school site Supporting evening lettings and ensuring facilities are ready for use Carrying out basic maintenance and repairs Site security and lock-up procedures Health and safety checks Setting up rooms and facilities as required Responding to site-related issues and guest enquiries General caretaking and premises dutiesThe Ideal Candidate Previous experience as a School Caretaker, Site Assistant, Premises Officer, Facilities Assistant, or Maintenance Operative Good practical maintenance skills Knowledge of health and safety procedures Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently Strong communication skills Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable (or willingness to obtain one)What We Offer Temp-to-perm opportunity Supportive school leadership team Consistent working hours Opportunity to secure a permanent school-based role Dedicated support from Simply Education throughout the recruitment processThe recruitment process will include an informal discussion with Simply Education, followed by meetings with the Site Manager and Headteacher.
