Site Engineer – Civil Engineering / Residential Developments Location: East Manchester Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 DOE Sector: Civil Engineering / Residential Groundworks / House Building About the Role We are currently looking for an experienced Site Engineer to join a growing civil engineering contractor delivering projects across the East Manchester region. The successful candidate will be working across residential house building developments, supporting the delivery of groundworks, infrastructure and civil engineering packages from initial setting out through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Site Engineer who enjoys working on live construction sites, coordinating with site teams and ensuring projects are delivered accurately, safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities • Carry out all setting out duties accurately using surveying equipment. • Manage site engineering requirements across residential developments. • Provide technical support to Site Managers and project teams. • Complete surveying, levelling and measurement activities. • Interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical information. • Ensure works are delivered in line with design requirements and project specifications. • Monitor quality control and ensure works are completed to required standards. • Assist with planning and coordination of daily site activities. • Liaise with subcontractors, engineers, suppliers and client representatives. • Complete site records, reports and quality documentation. • Identify and resolve technical issues on site. • Support the delivery of groundworks, drainage, roads, utilities and infrastructure packages. Ideal Background The ideal candidate will have experience working within: • Civil engineering contractors • Groundworks contractors • Residential housing developments • New build housing infrastructure • Roads, drainage and utilities packages Experience working alongside major house builders would be highly advantageous. Essential Experience • Previous experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering. • Strong setting out experience. • Experience working on residential developments / housing sites. • Good understanding of groundworks, drainage, roads and infrastructure. • Ability to read and interpret drawings. • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. • Confident working independently and as part of a wider project team. Qualifications Essential: • CSCS (Engineer / Professional level) • Relevant engineering qualification • Full UK driving licence Desirable: • Temporary Works Supervisor • SMSTS • First Aid • Experience with AutoCAD / surveying software Package • Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 depending on experience • Long-term opportunity with a growing civil engineering contractor • Working across established residential developments in East Manchester • Opportunity to work on high-quality housing schemes and major infrastructure packages Candidate Profile This role would suit a Site Engineer who is technically capable, commercially aware and enjoys being hands-on within a live construction environment.
